Beta Psi Lambda awards eight scholarships to incoming college students

The Beta Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. hosted its 2015 Scholarship Awards Reception on June 13, 2015 at the Alpha House Los Angeles. The presented eight (8) scholarship awards and honored three individuals for their contributions to the Greater Los Angeles Community.

Among the scholarship award recipients, the chapter selected 7 graduating seniors and one undergraduate. For the first time, the chapter gave an award to the individual from our undergraduate chapter (A?A, A?) for notable academic achievement and community involvement. The largest awards, the Thomas W. Tommy Robinson Award and the Alvin J, Wicks Awards were named for two Omega chapter brothers who contributed significantly to the chapter’s scholarship endowment fund. Below, you will find a list of the scholarship recipients, their achievements and the colleges that they will be attending in Fall 2015:

In addition to their monetary awards, scholarship recipients received commendations from California State Assemblyman Sebastian Ridley-Thomas (CA- 54th District). Community Awardees were presented with commendations from Assembly members Autumn Burke (CA-62nd District) and Isadore Hall (CA-35th District).
